This virtual downloadable product provides the SCDA job shop simulator 1.1, a Windows desktop app that runs without installation. The app allows for part routing, lead time, and capacity simulation in parts processing operations (excluding assembly).

Features and statistics supported by the SCDA job shop simulator 1.1

The SCDA job shop simulator 1.1 supports the following modeling features:

• Dynamic demand model
• Machine capacity model
• Parts routing by parts
• Work queue in parts processing
• 2D factory layout visualization

The simulation model outputs a schedule with timestamps per job and processing step, which allows for a broad range of key performance indicators which can be calculated on top of this raw output data. The output data (schedule.xlsx) contains the following data columns:

• part: Ongoing numbering of parts in same route
• route: Name of the route, as per routings list
• machine_group: Machine group for which time stamp was made
• machine: Machine for which time stamp was made
• t_stagestart: Time at which part arrived at machine buffer (queue)
• t_procstart: Time at which machine started processing the part
• t_stageend: Time at which machine completed processing the part

Content overview

The job shop simulator 1.1 package contains three spreadsheets that allow for modeling a parts processing job shop: partslist.xlsx, resourcelist.xlsx, and routingslist.xlsx. The main.exe will run the simulation, reading the model data from those three modeling files, and writing the simulation output into the schedule.xlsx in the reports sub-folder. For custom or additional resource and parts icons, go to the icons folder and replace or add .pngs as icons.
