Description
This virtual downloadable product delivers the “Sales store allocator”, an executable program on a MS Windows machine. The sales store allocator allows for optimal sales store and service facility allocation, taking into consideration spatial distribution of market potential.
Analytics app for optimal service facility allocation and network design
This downloadable virtual product comprises an executable desktop app that answers the following question: How many and where should I open service facilities with a limited rent expense and investment sum budget? The objective is to maximize sales revenue, subject to investment and rent expense limit constraints.
The app reads the following input data in pre-defined .csv file templaes:
- market.csv: market data, i.e. market demand and consumer spending forecast by relevant latitude and longitude coordinate (fine meshed grid of demand points)
- facility.csv: candidate facility data
The app furthermore requires the user to specify an total investment budget for opening facilities (e.g. renovating the rented facilities, buying equipment and furniture, etc.), as well as a rental expense budget (per relevant period).
The executable desktop app has been used for e.g. deciding on service facility openings in Rio de Janeiro, for a service chain. The analytics app was used to answer the following questions:
- Which candidate facilities generate the highest potential revenue?
- Which candidate facilities should be operated
System requirements
The program has be tested to successfully execute on Windows 10 or higher.
